Counsel and witnesses open a link and join. No installation and no account are required. Works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari, on computers and phones.
The official stenographer hosts the examination: admits participants from a waiting room, records, sets when the record is on, mutes or removes, and keeps appearances and observers separate.
The session is recorded for the production of the official transcript. Each participant's audio can be captured on its own track, which produces a cleaner transcript than a single shared recording.
An examination is booked through Montreal Steno. Each party receives the join link and a calendar invitation. Montreal Steno sends the link, the same way it does for a scheduled examination today.

The record is recorded, stored, and processed entirely in Canada, encrypted in transit, by a Canadian company under Canadian jurisdiction. What matters under Quebec's Law 25 and PIPEDA is where the information is held and who can access it. That is the point of the platform, and it is something a US meeting service cannot say.
